Once
again, we wanted something different from our award recipient.
We
wanted more activity, but in the area's of administration.
We called for
and received a member that dedicated more of his time to the
inner workings
of RSF. We got Acepilot. Acepilots beginnings in RSF
was little more then
a Gold Squadron pilot. He met with the same ups and downs
that most
experience, but unlike many, he saw his way through them.
Somewhere along the way a transformation occurred. A task
was given, and much to a lot of peoples surprise, Ace excelled.
Ace had found his place in RSF. Ace had become the voice
of RSF. |

The
award went through a bit of evolution this year. Times had
changed, and
so had our membership. We were no longer looking at the
best players for
this award, but the best members. The Year 2000 saw the
rapid climb of one
of its members. Niche. Joining on November 29, 1999,
Niche made the most
of the opportunities given to him. Rising from Squad
Member to Squad Leader
in his first 2 months, it was clear there was a purpose to this
member.
That purpose became clear 5 months after his joining. His
admittance into High Command. Niche could be best
described as a 'Whirl Wind of Activity'.
There was not an area of RSF that didn't have his personal mark
on it that
year. |

When
the Pilot of the Year Award was created, many already knew who
its
first recipient would be. Why? Because it's a
representation of RSF itself.
Everything that a member should strive to be and achieve.
He had to be a
great pilot and a great leader. He had to be a presence in
everything RSF
was a part of or participated in. Simply, he had to be
Mac. 'Mac is RSF' |
