| Explanation of Styles |
| This is a tree-thread system like you have in windows explorer. You can reply to every reply and a sub-tree is created. For reading messages you have to click all one by one. To avoid reading all those -nt message (-nt means that they have no body) all -nt messages in a thread are automatically marked as read, when viewing a message in that thread. To be compatible with the single-thread style you should quote much, so people know to what message you refer. It's good visible in the tree, but single-thread doesn't have such. |
It's is very similar to the style used on many other boards like e.g. phpBB2, so you
are kinda familiar with it. But there are some things to keep in mind:
You should always use the "Quote this Message"-Button on the right
message. So, if you want to the total thread use the "Reply To Whole
Thread"-Button instead. Otherwise the tree-view of the multi-thread
will kinda get messed up. Also you should specify a subject, because in
needed for tree-view they are very important. On threads list, when
clicking on new messages amount you will be directly send to the first
new message. When clicking on latest post date, you will be send to it
too. That avoids scrolling down the whole page, when having a kinda
long tread. |
| It's a combination of the multi-thread and the single-thread. You have on threads-list the single-thread style, but when reading a thread you have the tree. |
