What many of us already saw coming, looking at the behaviour of UBI concerning the Tom Clancy games the last time, is now official:
Ubisoft will begin to distance itself from hardcore shooters from this point forward because it no longer sees the genre as a moneymaker.

very sad to see one of the biggest series stopping to life ...
farewell Tom Clancy games ... may the money make UBI unhappy and let them crash in bussiness ... thats what i hope in my heart for letting us down.

i only don't get their statement about hardcore shooters not being a moneymaker.
R6 vegas was one of the topsellers on the xbox 360 and still is in the top listings of the most played online titles on xbox live.
now they bring vegas 2 based on the same engine with only very few new features, so more an addon for full price and it's obvious that it will sell great again on the consoles.
so they can't tell me that making such a game isn't worth!

yes, the ppl at UBI don't have a heart for games anymore.
for sure the business is about money, but if u base all your decisions only on the fast and most money and don't do the things from your heart, it won't work.
in one of the last interviews of valve's boss gave newell he stated, that u only can have success, if u have an open ear for the community.
and u can see this philosophy in every of their games and they're always top selling games ... have a look at HL2, portal, ...
that are games made from game lovers for game lovers and it still brings much money.
that's something UBI has lost long time ago ... shame on them.
they don't belive in the fact that for being successfull u have to please the customers. instead they think for being successfull they only need to please their shareholders
and they still can't tell me that there's no market for tactical shooters.
i mean they still continue with their PC exclusive submarine simulation "silent hunter". and that's for the mass market and a money maker?

that one of the reasons for this is, that UBI has a much more profitable job with the Wii and nintendo DS games, cause they are very simple to program and sell very good.
in general it seems they want to concentrate more toward simple games for the mass market.

well the games they made so far for the wii and DS i personally think they're rubbish, unfortunately there hasn't been a game out on the wii i've wanted to play as much as ravenshield or counterstrike

i guess there'll never come a game like RVS or CS on the wii, cause it's more a party and casual gaming console.
the more hardcore games are released on the 360 and PS3.
but the point is that the wii and DS games are most sold worldwide and that's what UBI is interested in.
not even the 360 and PS3 are reaching the selling numbers of nintendo atm.

the problem what diggler says is try al smaller company's that do well will be thaken over or something or the sell the games and rights of it i think this is the end of the RAinbow six series i loved them ....

if u can handle the lightsabre on ur own and that u can compete against other players over the internet. that way u can practise ur swordskills. but then u would propably need 1 thing. a big room so u have space to move lol
